Beneficiaries

We donate 100% of all funds raised from BRAWL events to local charities. Some of the organizations we’ve benefited include:

Family of Woodstock of Ulster County, NY: “Since 1970, FAMILY has been an anchor for area residents — a place where people are respectful and caring, and where the search for solutions is creative and tireless. FAMILY’s shelters, emergency food pantries, court advocates, counseling and case management services, hotlines, and child care supports all work together to help people achieve the changes they seek.”

B.I.R.T.H.E. (Bridge to Increase Responsibility Through Health Education), an initiative of The Rose Women’s Care Service: Community Resource Center: “B.I.R.T.H.E. is a childbirth and parenting program designed specifically for the pregnant adolescent, her partner, their families and peers. Its content is both traditional and innovative. Traditional topics include prenatal care, labor and delivery, and baby care.”

Planned Parenthood of the Mid Hudson Valley: “We are a trusted health care provider, an informed educator, a passionate advocate, and a global partner helping similar organizations around the world. Planned Parenthood delivers vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of women, men, and young people worldwide.”

Grace Smith House of Poughkeepsie, NY: Grace Smith House is a private not-for-profit domestic violence agency, which provides both residential and non-residential services to victims of domestic violence and their children.

YWCA of Kingston, NY: “Our agency exists to serve women throughout their lifetime. From childcare services, to youth leadership programs, to teen parenting services, the YWCA of Ulster County continues to take a leadership role in not only the delivery of services, but also, in the advocacy of issues that effect the lives of women and their families”

COTA (Celebration of the Arts) is a fine and performing arts festival at Historic Huguenot Street in New Paltz, NY, where hundreds of artists sell their work directly to the public.The event includes live music, performances, author readings, poetry readings, children’s activities, a silent auction, scheduled lectures and more. Funds raised through BRAWL helped to sponsor young women artists participating in COTA.

The Breastfeeding Initiative of Ulster County (BIUC) is a group of organizations and individuals committed to increasing breastfeeding rates in Ulster County, NY through promotion, protection, and support.”

Phillies Bridge Farm-to-Families: “Phillies Bridge Farm Project is dedicated to providing a portion of our season’s harvest of fresh vegetables to food insecure households, working with our partner Ulster County agencies: Hudson River Health Care, Ulster County Healthy Start, Cornell Cooperative Extension/Expanded Food and Nutrition Program, and Institute for Family Health.”

Rural Ulster Preservation Company (RUPCO) Kingston, NY, is “the region’s leading provider of and advocate for quality, affordable housing and community development programs aimed to provide opportunity and revitalize communities.” Hudson Valley BRAWL raised funds specifically for a RUPCO initiative “providing emergency rental assistance for low-income female-headed families.”
